Depression during pregnancy, My Story

Here's a vlog I quickly put together regarding my antepartum depression because I just couldn't fathom typing out the whole story! Lazy, or genius? I'm sorry this post is so late! I have much to update you on, so I bet more vlogs will be coming your way asap! (It's so much faster than typing and much more fun!) Excuse my messy bed. Making it wasn't a priority today. Too bad! :)

Thanks Megan so much for telling your story! I'm so glad you got the help you needed. How terrifying that must have been for you. (That being said, you've already had your baby?! Congrats!!!)

Thank you, Megan, for telling your story! I don't suffer from depression year around, but I have a really difficult time making it through winter. I am concerned that because I have a tendency toward depression, I may encounter it post-partum. (I am due in May.) I really appreciate hearing someone's point of view in such an honest manner.

I am glad you were able to safely make it through your pregnancy and I'm sure you are loving all of those baby cuddles!

Your video post was great! It was actually nice to see you and hear you instead of always reading. Nice to change it up a bit you know. I've followed your blog for many years now and I'm so proud of you for reaching out and getting help! That takes a lot of courage! You are such a fantastic Mama and wife!! It is why I follow your blog. You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your story!!

So wonderful of you to post this- I found your blog years ago when I was suffering post-partum after my 1st child. It helped so much to know that I wasn't the only one going through these crazy emotions (b/c one thing the 'voice' tells you is that you're crazy).
There aren't enough resources out there for depression and definitely not enough people sharing their stories. The more we talk about it, the more others can be helped.
and CONGRATS! He's adorable!

Hi Megan:

I was wondering if you experienced crazy anxiety after moving with your kids? I also had (have) depression and anxiety issues and we just moved, and I am really struggling with extreme anxiety after the move.

Hi Erin!! Yes, major anxiety!!! Moving is incredibly stressful and puts hormones out of whack. I found that upping my meds during such times is helpful. All that stress needs an outlet, so I needed to increase my child care help for a bit and also limit my extra activity to give myself a chance to "heal".
