18 weeks and Aruba 2011

Aruba 2011 025

Hi friends!
We just got back from a trip to Aruba. Not a bad place to spend my 18th week of pregnancy. Now, as I write this I am now 19 weeks along.
I spent the time laying in the shade, playing with Paige, swimming, and napping. Chris did the lion's share of the work with caring for Paige and me. I'm a lucky gal.
Paige did great on the trip and was thrilled with all the wildlife she saw there: Mostly sand crabs, hermit crabs, iguanas, lizards, fish, and the flamingos. Seventh heaven for her. She talks about all the critters like they are her best buddies. The trip did wonders for her as she is now talking up a storm about what she saw and has started singing songs in their entirety...not just lines of songs here and there. Such cool developments!
Here are some photos from the trip to give a taste of our experience; see you soon friends!

Acadia

The Bubbles

Hi friends!
I finally got around to editing some of my favorite pictures from our recent fifth wedding anniversary trip to Acadia National Park in Maine. I took 500 some-odd photos! Crazy.
Here are a tiny few; I can't say enough good things about that place. It's just gorgeous and so wonderful to hike. So much to see! I hope you enjoy these images and that perhaps they inspire you to visit!

Summertime

Togus Sunset

Hi friends!
I'm sorry for being gone so long! We spent a full week up at Togus Pond in Augusta, Maine...we rented my Mom's cousin's camp. It was wonderful! It was also extra special because Paige got to play in the waters where I learned to swim, MY mother learned, HER mother learned, and I bet even HER mother learned. So, we continued a tradition.

Swimming with Mama

There's something so wonderful about going back to your place of childhood fun. I have many warm and happy memories of summer days spent at that pond. There's a certain feeling of coming home. We spent the week swimming, reading, relaxing, chasing Paige around the yard, and just pondering in general. I also turned 32 on July 14th which found us being visited by my parents and my brother later on in the day. It was also a tiring week; spending time in a new place with a wily and quick toddler can wear you thin. But, I knew it would be like that and was happy to relax during her naps! I have so many fun things to share with you this week! First, I'll end this post by showing you a barrage of images from our trip.

Aruba 2010!

Tickle

Hi friends!!
I'm sorry we've been missing...we went on vacation with Chris' parents last week to Aruba! Paige (and the rest of us) loved it! She did great on the plane rides (only crying before her naps). She really enjoyed the sand and the sights and of course the lazy river pool. She could have floated all day long in there! She didn't get seasick on our snorkeling sail one afternoon, rather, she enjoyed seeing the seagulls and relaxing on the lounge pads. She behaved nicely at all the restaurants at dinner and was just a sweetie to all the strangers who talked to her. I was a proud Mama! I'm bummed to be back in the cold winter chill, but am so thankful and happy to have such wonderful memories of Paige's very first big trip away! I'll be back in this space regularly this week and I hope you all are well. I'll share some photos below to help keep you warm too!

Summer Vacation

We went on vacation to Ogunquit, Maine for a few days. It was Paige's very first vacation.

Here I am in my new bathing suit! I'm not even 4 months yet and this bathing suit is for sizes 6-12 months! I'm a tall lady!

I had my first dip in the pool with Daddy; he kept me safe! I really liked it but got chilly after a while. There was a cool breeze!

Hangin' with Mama
Mommy hung out with me in the shade by the pool most of the time. We enjoyed our views of the ocean. The weather was perfect!

She helped me dry off when I came out of the pool. So snuggly!dressy
I got to dress up for dinners out. What fun!

I allowed Daddy to take my picture with Mommy and I gave him a tiny little smile, just because.
